Chairman Earl Williams called the meeting to order and Mr. Jack Drew, Reichertville

Volunteer Firefighter opened with prayer.

 

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

 

Roy Campbell made the motion to approve the minutes from the 4/18/02 Board meeting and 5/14/02 Board workshop.  Elaine Mays seconded the motion.  With all in favor, the motion carried.

 

 

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

 

Executive Director Jack Smith requested a workshop for Tuesday morning at 9:00am on July 9, 2002. 

Mr. Smith proposed that the Board approve interim financing until decisions can be made at the workshop.  Roy Campbell made a motion to obtain a loan in the amount of $140,700 at 3.91% interest from Bank of Thomas County.  Ann McCrickard seconded the motion.  With a unanimous vote from all members present, the motion carried.

Financial reports indicate that expenses are in line.  Revenue and collections are down.

Work is in progress on the new E911 center and the new Fire division facility will be ready in approximately 2 weeks.

 

 

 

J. Elaine Mays explained a petition that had been presented to the County to name Southern Breeze Lane.  Because of E911 mapping and addressing involvement approval by our Board is requested.  Roy Campbell made a motion to approve the recommendation to submit the naming Southern Breeze Lane to the Thomas County Board of Commissioners. Elaine Mays seconded the motion.  With no opposition, the motion passed.

 

With no further business to discuss Ann McCrickard made a motion to adjourn.  Chairman Williams adjourned the meeting.
