Board Attorney Keith Allen opened the meeting and introduced new Board member Elaine Mays. Mr. Allen stated that the rotation for Chairman of the Board would fall to the City members. Roy Campbell made a motion to elect Earl Williams as Board Chairman. Elaine Mays moved for the nominations to be closed. Bobby Brown seconded the motion. With a unanimous vote, the motion carried. Roy Campbell then made a motion to elect Bobby Brown as Vice Chairman of the Board. Elaine Mays moved for the nominations to be closed and seconded the motion to elect Mr. Brown. All were in favor. The motion carried.
Chairman Earl Williams gave the invocation and then welcomed Elaine Mays.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Earl Williams made a motion to approve the minutes from the 12/27/01 Board meeting. Bobby Brown seconded the motion. With all in favor, the motion carried.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Executive Director Jack Smith recognized Mark Brannan with WPAX. Mark is a member of the Board of the Red Cross and he introduced new Chapter Manager Kathy McGee.
Executive Director Smith requested an additional meeting on Thursday, January 31, 2002 at 12:00 noon. At that time monthly Department Reports will be given and other business will be addressed.
FIFTH BOARD MEMBER
The Joint Resolution between the Thomas County and the City of Thomasville specified the completion of terms as December 31. Roy Campbell presented Ann McCrickard for consideration as the independent member. She is a professional business woman and is also on the City Council of Boston. Bobby Brown made a motion to elect Ann McCrickard as the fifth member to complete the Board. Elaine Mays seconded the motion and moved to close nominations. With a unanimous vote, the motion carried.

With no further business, Elaine Mays made a motion to adjourn.
